March 7, 2018 - Suggested Reading 2nd Service Exodus 2

“So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.”

The descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob suffered for 400 years in Egypt.
We know that God knew all about it, for He foretold this suffering to Abram in Genesis 15- so we understand that whatever the Bible means by His looking, it doesn’t mean that suddenly He noticed something He had overlooked. No - this hearing, looking and being concerned is directly related to His promise to Abraham regarding Abraham’s descendants and means that we should get ready for God to start the rescue operation in Chapter 3. And what an amazing operation is recorded - for God moved heaven and earth to rescue His people!
I don’t know what chapter you are in presently in this life- it could be that you are in a similar situation to the people in Exodus chapter 2. If you are in a terrible situation, groan, and cry for help - not from people- but from God, for you are in Christ and what a wonderful promise we have in Christ. God will hear and look and remember that promise and move heaven and earth to rescue you.
