March 24, 2018 - Suggested Reading 1 Thessalonians 4 - for March 25th message on 1 Corinthians 7:1-16 in 1st Service

“It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;”

It's crazy how attracted I am to this person!
I wonder what God wants me to do?
For a person to ask this question of themselves sets them apart from the vast majority.
The definition of sanctified is “set apart”.
A person who is concerned about whether or not they please God - is set apart.
Knowing God’s will is the beginning of lining our life up with God, and Paul wants to make sure that Christians know very clearly that God’s will for them is to avoid sexual immorality.
Avoiding sexual immorality involves;
 learning to control my body in a holy and honourable way
not allowing passionate lust to control me
not taking advantage or wronging a brother or sister
 Many Christians reject any teaching about sexual immorality to their own harm.
For God called us to a holy life, not an impure life.
