March 10, 2018 - Suggested Reading 2nd Service Acts 13

“Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.”
Acts 13:39 (NIV)

Are you interested in the Gospel – the Good News?
What drew my attention to this long chapter in Acts is the chance to listen to Paul as he brings the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ to Jews.
We don’t have to guess at the apostle’s approach, or technique for here is Luke’s account in verse 16 thru 41 of what he heard Paul proclaim.
The Good News starts with the history of God and His people - Surely God has been faithful!
The Good News is that the Savior Jesus is who God promised to David.
We can be sure that this Good News is true because;
Scripture was fulfilled in the manner of His death
The promise of resurrection was fulfilled in Jesus.
The promise of forgiveness of sins was fulfilled in Jesus.
The Good News according to Paul was that God has proved Himself faithful to His people the Jews by sending Jesus.
So friend how is this new promise working out for us?
You know, the one in verse 39, about being set free from every sin.
Surely God is faithful.
