March 13, 2018 - Suggested Reading 1st Service Genesis 39

“She caught him by his cloak and said, “Come to bed with me!” But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house.”
Genesis 39:12 (NIV)

If Joseph lived in 2018 in North America, he could have been part of the #metoo movement. It is amazing how human nature stays the same throughout the ages. We pretend that we are so much more advanced then our “primitive” ancestors - NO not at all – for we discover in this account of a time in Egypt 3,300 years ago that their society had the same issue, though in this case it was a woman of power over a male servant, who did not receive justice but was severely punished for resisting her advances.
He ran, he didn’t stay and reason, he ran.
Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:18 to FLEE from sexual immorality.
Don’t hang around, don’t reason, don’t try to argue, don’t rationalize - just run.
The movie Forest Gump has “Run Forest Run” as a theme throughout the entire movie.
Following this advice saves him and saves others.
God is calling to us - Run _________ Run!
It is the only way to escape sexual immorality.
