“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.”
Exodus 23:20 (NIV)
Angel/terror/hornet – 3 beings or 1 being? An angel to guard (defence), a terror to confuse and scatter, a hornet to drive out. No matter how we answer the question we can clearly see that God is supernaturally helping His people through the work of His angels. In this passage aimed at possessing the life God had planned for the Israelites, we understand that the Israelites needed supernatural help possessing God’s wonderful plans for them. Specifically - an angel to guard against attack, an angel to confound the enemy’s defence, and an angel to clear the enemy out. As we think about our plans for this week, may we remember to ask our God for supernatural help, that we may withstand the enemy’s attacks, that we may proclaim the gospel boldly, that we might see the gospel take root and displace unbelief in our families and communities.
