children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts
and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds."

Hear the
Word of the Lord for the church! He is not feeble, nor faint of heart when it
comes to the purity of His bride. The vision of the Lord Jesus Christ given to
the apostle John, is a vision of a holy, and powerful Lord, who is intimately
involved in each local church. It is He who judges Christians on the basis of
their actions and hearts. It is He who executes judgement.
The local church at
Thyatira seems like a strong church. They love the Lord and are growing in
their faith and service to Him. Yet there are some in their midst, who are
committing sexual immorality and eating food sacrificed to idols. The Lord will
kill them if they don’t repent. He will give them time to repent, and He will
make an example of their leader as a warning.
Friend, Our Lord is serious about
us living pure and righteous lives. We should be serious too! Repent! What
grace the Father bestows on us, that He allows us an opportunity to repent. Oh,
how He loves us! He will not allow us to be slaves to sin.
