1 Corinthians 6:12-7:40

"Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body."
{1 Corinthians 6:18} (NIV 1984)

We are to watch and pray. We are to be alert and look for the way out. We are to flee! That means run full speed ahead along the path that leads away from the sin! All sins are equal in the sense that all sins separate us from God. When we sin we grieve the Holy Spirit within us; we turn away from the Living God.

This verse teaches us that all sins are not equal in the sense of consequences. Sexual sin has severe consequences in our own bodies. There is much research done on this, but let’s take this verse by faith. Believe what it says and follow its instruction. Let us not toy with this area of sin. Don’t walk close to the edge of the cliff. Flee! Don’t watch that show anymore. Don’t read those books anymore. Don’t hang around with those people anymore. I think of the movie Forest Gump: 'Run Forest! Run!'
