Psalm 22

"Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said, 'Surely not I, Rabbi?'
Jesus answered, 'Yes, it is you.'
{Matthew 26:25} (NIV 1984)

What brass! Who does Judas think he is fooling? Judas has already gone to the leaders and arranged the betrayal. This is the Lord he is dealing with! How could he be so arrogant and blind to say this to the Lord? The Lord knew it was Judas. He still broke bread with him, ministered to him and was gentle with him. 1 out of 12 was a devil! If we applied this ratio to our church, our membership, our leadership, it would change who we put our trust in.
How about it? If our Lord had 1 out of 12, should we have any less? They will never admit it; they are too full of brass! We won't know, but we should take warning and be sure to place our trust in God and not in the people around us. We don't need to hunt them out. We need to trust God and do what His Word tells us to. We need to minister to all, even those who are our enemies.
People are people. God is God. Let us trust God today.
