Nov 29, 2017- Suggested Reading 2nd Service Mark 14

“Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Simon,” he said to Peter, “are you asleep? Couldn’t you keep watch for one hour?”
Mark 14:37 (NIV)

ONE HOUR?
How many of us could pray for one hour?
Peter and the apostles couldn’t, even with our Lord present with them, expressing sorrow and beseeching them to pray. I have been in prayer meetings that flew by, the hour was up before you knew it. Each person praying from their heart, the hearts of others joined in union, what a sense of accomplishment when those prayer times ended. But to pray for an hour by ourselves is a hard thing to do. A friend of mine who drives many miles every year calls his vehicle “his prayer closet”. The head of a foreign mission organization was known to get up from the table make a cup of tea all the while in prayer with others.

How many of us could pray for one hour today?
How many of us will pray for one hour today?
Our Lord asks us to- for our sake- not His.
