Nov 17, 2017- Suggested Reading 1st Service Titus 3

“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,"

HE saved us
HE saved us
HE saved me
Can you say those words?
Was it God that saved you or did you save yourself?
Was it God who saved you, or did your pastor save you?
Was it God who saved you, or did your creed save you?
This passage explains in a very simple and clear way how God saves us. He saves us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, poured out on us through Jesus Christ our Saviour. This is true baptism, baptism of the Spirit, the saving act of merciful, gracious God. There is only one baptism (which is the act of God) the rest are simply symbols (the acts of humans) of that true baptism. Reborn, renewed, saved by the act of God!
Unless a man be born again… our Lord told Nicodemus
How can someone be born again… asked Nicodemus
water and the Spirit … said the Lord
How can this be… asked Nicodemus
Oh friend, I hope you know that He saved you.
I hope you know that the Holy Spirit is within you.
