Numbers 6:22-27

“The LORD bless you and keep you..."
{Numbers 6:24} (NIV1984)

These words of blessing, that are to spoken by all of us who are the priests of the Most High God, begin with the LORD. To be blessed is to be happy. Our Lord Jesus came and sat down on a mountain and spoke about being blessed, about being truly happy. We use the word blessed loosely, as we describe some temporary state of happiness or good ‘fortune’. But true blessing comes from the LORD and only from the LORD!

To be kept by the LORD, to belong to Him forever, is a blessing. The apostle John states that we who are born again will be kept safe from the evil one by the Lord Jesus (1 Jn 5:18), and the apostle Paul was convinced that nothing could separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Ro 8:39)!
Psalm 121:7-8 describes it as, “The Lord will keep you from all harm —  he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”

What a blessed state to be in - kept by the LORD!  Oh friend, we know this blessing in our lives, do we not? Whom can we bless today by speaking these words to them?
