Hebrews 10:1-18

"Because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy."
{Hebrews 10:14} (NIV1984)

We have a life to live yet. We have this day in front of us, perhaps we have more days yet to come. We are a work in progress; God is shaping us and transforming us into the image of His Son. We aren’t there yet. We are still being made holy. We can get discouraged about our slow progress. Discouraged because of the sin that we see in our lives; discouraged because we have to fight a battle again that we thought we had already won. Friend, this passage in Hebrews is an encouragement to us. Chew on this text! A perfect sacrifice makes those who have laid their hand on the sacrifice perfect forever. Do we think ourselves as perfect? We should according to this text. If we have through faith, laid a hold of the Lord Jesus Christ, then we have been made perfect. That sin that discourages us. That battle that we have to fight again and again. Remember, no more sacrifice is required for our sin. Just confess them to God – He is faithful to forgive. Why? Because the sacrifice has been made and we are perfect in His sight.

"Come now, let us reason together,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool." {Isaiah 1:18}
