Hebrews 12:1-11

  "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, 

that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 

The reason the world does not know us, is that it did not know him."

When God created mankind as the pinnacle of creation on earth, God established relationships that are a shadow of the spiritual realities, and that point us towards Him. He created us in His image. He created us man and woman, the same species but oh so different! He instituted marriage; that a man and a woman should enter into a lifelong intimate relationship. 

Who today would have created marriage? But God created it, in order to point us toward the spiritual reality of our Lord and us - the church. God created fathers to point us toward the spiritual Father - Him. Fathers affect us deeply. Positively and negatively, they are most influential person in our lives. There is something about a father that is so different than a mother. It is hard to pin down exactly, but they affect their children tremendously.  

May what sin mars, point us toward our Heavenly Father. Thank God for earthly fathers. 

Praise you eternal Father, for the spiritual reality of your relationship to us, and for your love that you have lavished on us.

Thank you oh my Father, for giving us your Son, 

and leaving your Spirit here, until the 

work on earth is done.
