Daniel 3

When you walk through the fire,  you will not be burned;
 the flames will not set you ablaze.
Isaiah 43:2 (NIV1984

As the LORD explained Israel’s future to Isaiah, a future that included the destruction of Jerusalem and captivity in the land of Babylon, reassurance was given to the children of God. 'Don’t be afraid for your Redeemer is with you; you will pass through floods, and pass through fire and neither will harm you'.

This passage contains a general principle for all of God’s children, for all of time. We will pass through deep waters and raging fires, and we will come out the other side unscathed! Yet, Daniel 3 records a specific account of three of God’s children, captives in Babylon who experienced the specific fulfillment of this prophetic principle. What child of God can read the account of the Lord walking in the furnace with His servants, and not be encouraged!

Friend, be encouraged today. The Lord is with you through the floods and the fires, and He will be with you and bring you through the great fire that ends this age!
God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Heb. 13:5b)
