Proverbs 3

"Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding..."
{Proverbs 3:13} (NIV1984)

To be blessed is to be happy. A happiness or joy that comes from having the gracious face of the Living God turned squarely at us! God is not only the Creator of heaven and earth; He is the Sustainer of heaven and earth. (Heb 1:3)

Many of us think that God created the heavens and earth with a set of rules, we call them laws of nature, and a spiritual law. We think that God is somehow outside of what He created, intervening at special and critical times. In truth, these laws are only observations of how God works, observations of who God is.

The truth is, that if God withdrew Himself from His creation, it would collapse and disappear. This is the actual meaning of sustaining. Therefore, finding wisdom is actually discovering the good pleasing and perfect will of the One who sustains all of the activities we are involved in. In other words, to find wisdom is to align my thoughts and behaviour with how God operates, and who God is. It is hard for us to believe that God is involved in sports, in school, in our job, our tasks at home, etc, but He is! To find wisdom in all these areas is to align our thoughts and behaviour with the One who holds everything together; to be perfectly enmeshed with the One who created and sustains.

To find wisdom is to find peace, to find purpose and to find fulfillment. To find wisdom is to find God walking in His creation and to hold His hand and walk with Him!

Dear heavenly Father, please give me wisdom this day. May I walk in Your ways!
