"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask
God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to
him."
{James 1:5} (NIV1984)
Do we have
to make any decisions today? Are we going to face any choices? 'Yes' and 'Yes' are
the answers to those questions. Some of these decisions and choices seem to be
‘no-brainers’, that is we spend very little time thinking about them. But some
of them require thought and consideration, and some of them cause us to be
fearful, for we recognize that we do not understand all of the ramifications
and consequences of our decision.
Solomon asked God for wisdom and He received
it, and blessing on top. James tells us 'ask and you will get'. If you ask God for
wisdom, He will pour it into you, not grudgingly, but generously. James even
makes the point that (although many of the tough decisions we have to make and
many of the tricky places we get ourselves in to, are a result of us not
obeying God) God will not find fault, but will give us more than enough wisdom
to make the right decision. All that is required is that we believe that God
will answer the prayer for wisdom!
I need more wisdom. Friend, you need more
wisdom. Wisdom brings life, peace and blessing. Wisdom brings us into line
with God’s design, His good, pleasing and perfect will. So let us ASK, let us
DECIDE, let us ACT, and let us BELIEVE that God gave us the WISDOM we needed,
and then let us TRUST Him for the outcome.
