Psalm 24

"Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place?"
{Psalm 24:3} (NIV1984

Who indeed? The LORD made the earth and everything in it! Which of His creatures will be able to climb to the heights where the King of Glory is?
The LORD made mankind, both men and women, and gave them dominion over all of the other creatures. The LORD breathed into us a spirit, and came and walked and talked with us. So we ask again, which human is able to climb to the heights to converse with the King of Glory?

It is true that each human is destined to die and then stand before the judgement seat of the Most High God. But this question is asked of the living not the dead. Who can draw near to God in worship? Who can stand before the King of Glory and ask for grace and receive grace? The answer is simple and profound; the person who has clean hands. That is, the person who does not trust an idol. And the person who has a pure heart, that is, the person who does not swear by a false God. Hands and heart, idols and false gods.

Every human is called – no - every human is required by all that is right to draw near to the King of Glory and worship Him! The created must worship their Creator. But only those who worship Him and Him alone; only those who come to him washed by the Spirit with hearts purified through faith in Christ, only those will be able to reach His throne room, and stand before Him in worship and peace.

Friend, are your hands clean this morning? Is your heart pure? They can be by simply going to the Lord and receiving forgiveness. Then draw near to the King of Glory and bless His Holy Name!
