Matthew 24

"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven,
nor the Son, but only the Father."

We want to know. We want to know when! The wise Teacher says; “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.” (Prov. 25:2) Moses tells us; “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.” (Deut. 29:29) Our Lord Jesus tells us, “No one knows”. 

Why do men continue to publish books and make predictions about dates? Why do we, children of the Most High God, continue to read these books and inquire as to when? Why won’t we take our Lord at His Word and cease this inquiring? Could it be that we are seeking glory for ourselves? Could it be that our curiosity is a symptom of deadly pride?  O friend, trust your Heavenly Father. He has revealed the things we need to know. The things He has revealed, teach us how to live, so that we will be ready when that Day arrives. 

Trust and obey,

For there is no other way

To be happy in Jesus,

But to trust and obey.
