Exodus 10:21-29

"Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky so that darkness will spread over Egypt—darkness that can be felt.”"
{Exodus 10:21} (NIV1984)

The Egyptians were plunged into total darkness. The Scripture says they couldn’t see each other or leave their places for 3 days. This must mean that their lamps would not light, nor wood or straw piles, or the Egyptians would have had them lit casting light upon their way. To be in darkness like this would be awful! Imagine not being able to make any kind of light. The Israelites however had light in the places they lived.

This is how God treats His people. They have light; light from the Father above. He distinguishes between His people and the people of the world by giving His people light, and leaving the people of the world in darkness. You wonder why the world lives the way they do? They are in darkness. But we are children of the light, we have light from above in our hearts and on our paths.

Let us today, give thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. Col 1:12
