Dec 4, 2017- Suggested Reading 2nd Service Joshua 7

“Pardon your servant, LORD. What can I say, now that Israel has been routed by its enemies?”
Joshua 7:8 (NIV)

Joshua the man of courage speaks straight talk to God!
respectful BUT straight-
the people of God are in a defeated position and Joshua wants to know why the LORD allowed this and what the LORD will do about it. The LORD tells him to get up and do something about it- get rid of the sin in the camp. Joshua 7 is a sobering account for all those who want to see God’s kingdom advance in their family and their community. The message of Joshua 7 is that our sin stops God’s kingdom from advancing. It is not a lack of power on God’s part. It is a lack of consecration on our part. So friend- do we want to see victory? Do we want to see the gospel advance with power in our families and communities? Let's get up off our knees and get rid of the greed that grips us- Achan wanted what he wanted- didn’t matter it wasn’t his.
God will do his part- let us do our part.
