Hebrews 9

"But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation."
{Hebrews 9:11} (NIV)

Humans didn’t make the tabernacle/temple in heaven. The tabernacle and temples built on earth were only copies of the true temple that is in heaven (vs24).

Hebrews 9 contains some of the most powerful truths about the nature of the death, resurrection and ascension of our Lord Jesus. He died as the sacrifice for our sins here on earth. He was buried in this earth. He rose back to life, and then ascended to heaven and entered the true temple, and as the true High Priest. He entered the Most Holy Place by His own blood, obtaining for us eternal redemption. He did away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself. He cleansed our conscience, that we might now serve the Living God, with a pure heart, soul and mind.

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1) Jacob saw a stairway from heaven and earth. Moses saw the real temple in heaven, and made the tabernacle based on what he saw. David sang about the LORD on His throne and in His sanctuary looking out over all the earth. Isaiah saw the LORD on a throne, and then declared the words of God, “Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be? (Isaiah 66:1)

Heavenly Father, I pray, bless us today as we consider the greatness of your true temple, and the greatness of the true High priest, our Lord Jesus Christ.
