"Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything
in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; you are
exalted as head over all."

King
David knew the truth about YHWH. David knew that his LORD was the God of
everything. There is nothing in heaven and earth that does not belong to the
LORD. EVERYTHING includes everything! Wind and waves, thunder and lightning,
fish, birds, animals and spirits. All creation hears and obeys His voice -
except for us.
Humans don’t obey the righteous rule of the LORD. This rebellion
is the cause of all of the disaster in our lives and throughout all the earth.
To think of God as being a King is right thinking. To think that this God - King,
has a kingdom where His righteous rule is obeyed by all His subjects is
Scriptural. To seek to be part of His kingdom, and to seek to see His righteous
rule carried out by us today, is to be in the place of blessing that our Lord
described in the Sermon on the Mount.
May your kingdom come, may your will
be done.
O Lord, change my heart today, that I would obey Your righteous
rule.
