Feb 20, 2018 - Suggested Reading 1st Service Psalm 15

“LORD, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain?”

If we pay attention to this first verse we will quickly discover that this little psalm is all about the assembly of God’s people on this earth. We happen to call these assemblies in 2018 local churches. Sacred tent and holy mountain refer to the place where God meets His people, the mountain the bible calls Zion, and the tent is called the tabernacle. God meets His people there, He hears their prayers there, receives their worship and blesses them and their community and the world through that meeting place. His people meet God there- they stop their regular activities, they travel to get there, they offer prayers, seek forgiveness and blessing, and give financial gifts to the church. We have our rules about who can call Parkdale their “home”- surely that is what the Words dwell and live refer to- but this little psalm gives us God’s rules, and they all seem to be about how we treat each other.
