Psalm 107

"Let the redeemed of the LORD tell their story—those he redeemed from the hand of the foe..."
{Psalm 107:2} (NIV)

Are you redeemed my friend? Have you by faith been joined to the Lord Jesus Christ? Have your sins been forgiven through the blood of His sacrifice? Are you His today, bought with His blood? Then say so, my friend. Thank God for His loving kindness, His compassion, His grace, and His humility in giving His blood to purchase you from your enemy.

You are one of the many from all over the earth, who were wandering helplessly, seeking the city of God, but unable to find food or water. You were hungry, you were thirsty, and the LORD heard you when you cried out to Him. He delivered you and then took you by His right hand and is leading you along the straight and narrow way, to your true home of righteousness, the very city of the Most High God.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled (Mt. 5:6). Blessed were we when we were hungry and thirsty, for our distress caused us to call on the name of the LORD and be delivered from our distress. Friend, why would the Creator of heaven and earth, the Almighty God who lives in unapproachable light, why would the Most High God bother delivering us from our distress?

Let us give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love, and His wonderful deeds for mankind.
